Watercolor Instructor

     Beginner will start with learning materials, brush strokes, value studies and color mixing. Intermediate – Advanced - color mixing with extended palette, brush strokes, edges, values and most important focus on composition. Working from student photos or mine.  Pat can also teach about setting up a working studio, preparing to enter shows, framing options.  All sessions will be taught at Pat's home studio.  Pat would consider teaching two friends who wanted to attend at the same time.  Pat is available for scheduling on Wednesdays between 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Please see her website: www.patmorganart.com for more information, materials list and photos of her work in the Gallery listing.

Artist Bio

     Upon her retirement, Pat began classes in watercolor and it was love at first stroke. She studied with well-known artists Charles Reid and Mel Stabin, a wonderful painter and teacher. She has been painting in watercolor for 20 years and early on focused on landscapes and flowers as her models.  Over time she has fallen in love with painting figures, especially children. Teaching became another passion for Pat.  Her demonstrations and lessons always focus on capturing just the essence of her subject.  She has taught for many years in New York, New Jersey and currently Western North Carolina. Pat has received several local and regional awards and is a signature member of the North East Watercolor Society and a former elected member of the NJ Water Color Society and the Salmagundi Club in NY, one of the oldest art organizations in the US. Pat’s watercolors are included in her husband's ten poetry books and when not painting or in her gardens, she enjoys teaching  - sharing her love of painting.
