Plein-Air Group

The Art League’s Plein Air Group:

Our group of outdoor ‘Plein Air’ painters was started in 2021.   Paint outs are free to attend.  All levels of experience and mediums are welcome. We meet at venues ‘local to Hendersonville’ between late May and early November.  Some of the more popular locations have multiple season dates, such as Carl Sandburg’s Home.  We sometimes combine attendance with other plein air groups, and try to work around their schedules-as many of us paint with several groups.  Please refer to the attached schedule for more information on times and dates.  

The Plein Air Group can be seen painting on the grounds of Marked Tree Vineyard in Flat Rock, NC during the Art League of Henderson County’s festivals.  We kicked off the season this year by painting at the La vie en Rose festival. We will also be there again in October for the Fall for Art, Open Studio Tours, where we will be showing our framed work, while painting new pieces on the spot.
