Open Studio Tour Artist Applications
Open Studio Tour Returns - October 21 through October 23.
The 2022 self-guided Fall for Art open studio tour is now open for artist applications.
The event will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 21, 22 and 23 from 10 am to 5 pm. Friday is optional. This event will provide artists with opportunities to educate visitors about their creative process and to market their work. Participating artists are asked to explain and demonstrate their process and provide insights to their motivation. This is a good opportunity to sell your work, but he goal of the event is to provide an environment where locals and visitors to Henderson County can meet, observe and learn about artists and their creative process.
Artists sharing or occupying spaces other than their actual studio are asked to organize their viewing area including necessary tools and equipment to achieve these goals.
The Art League will do extensive marketing prior and during the event in print, digital media and TV. Promotion will be both local and beyond the county and immediate area using grant funds from the Tourism Development Authority’s destination marketing grant program.
A Fall for Art Open Studio Tour Guide with sample artwork and contact information and days open for each artist will be produced. An event rack card will be distributed in the month prior to the event to galleries, local hospitality venues and available for artist distribution to clients, friends and neighbors.
Before you apply:
You will be required to provide the following during the application process:
1. Artists are required to upload a high resolution image (300 dpi) of you artwork for use in the Guide and for PR purposes.
2. The physical address of the studio where you will be participating including street address, city and zip code. If sharing, you will need the address of the hosting studio/location.
Non-members are invited to join the Art League to take advantage of the discounted application fee for this event and to be eligible for member-only events and discounts. Memberships run for 12 months from the date of sign up. Dues are $40. You must join before applying to the Open Studio Tour to be eligible for the member discount. On-line membership application and payments are accepted through the Art League website and click on membership. We have a new website. Do not use an old link or link that pops up in Google. Art League members: $80. Non-members $100.
Payment can be done on-line during the application process. Pay by check is also an option, but out preference is for pay on line. When paying on-line you will see a PayPal logo and if you have a PayPal account you may be required to login to PayPal, or you can pay as a guest. Both the PayPal and Guest option allow you to pay with a credit card, so you do not have to have a PayPal account or use only PayPal. See the images below for completing the payment option:
